In a repeat performance mirroring what she did at the Aviva London Samsung Diamond League Meet, Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria beat out some of the best in the world including Jeneba Tarmoh of the US and Tiana Madison, coming through to win the 100 meters for women in a new personal best time of 10.96 seconds.
Blessing is peaking at the right time and will be a force to reckon with in the women's 100 meters final in London against the Jamaican's, the American's and her fellow African rivals; Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast, Zang Milama Ruddy of Gabon and Gloria Asumnu her Nigerian country woman.
With a time of 10.96sec and peaking well at the right time, Blessing will be a very strong medal prospect at the London games and stands to be the very first ever individual 100 meters Medalist for Nigeria in the event.
