Sierra Leone Golf Course to get US$ 1 million facelift

RE-ELECTED PRESIDENT: Solomon Samba

 

Sierra Leone's only Golf Course; the Freetown Golf Club at Lumley is set to benefit from a US$ 1 million dollar remodeling and refurbishment from an England based company; Truestone Group.

 

The revelation was made by the club's re-elected president, Solomon Samba in his 2012/13 report during the club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) hosted at the Course hall, Lumley.

East African Golf Championships set for November 5th In Burundi

The nation of Burundi will be the next host of the East African Community Golf tournament which begins on November 5th to last till November 9th according to the Bujumbura Golf Club.

Competing nations will be Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and host nation Burundi. The event will commence on Monday November 5th after a planned fanfare of an opening ceremony.

Paul Kargbo wins Johnnie Walker Golf Tourney

Paul Kargbo ready to hit 

Paul Kargbo has won the professional category of the 2012 Johnnie Walker golf tournament after securing a total net of 276 from 66 out, 71 in, gross 75 and 64 handicaps.

Kargbo beat off competition from keen contender, Brima Mansaray and Jerry Dumbuya respectively after Mansaray settled for a net of 286 with Dumbuya finishing with a total of 289.

African Golf Champion to miss Augusta

The 'Masters' which is Golf's most prestigious event begins on Thursday in Augusta Georgia and it will be missing a regular at the event at this year's tournament after 18 years of consecutive appearances. Ernie Els of South Africa who had recently dropped out of the top 50 in the international PGA rankings had to qualify to make the cut to the tournament and until last week he tried to do just that at the Shell Open in Houston Texas but failed to make it.
